Q: What does it mean to have Faith or Believe in Jesus Christ?

A: God has first place in your life, and you ask Him to forgive your sins.

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."  1 John 1:9

"If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved."  Rom. 10:9

Our relationship to God is not restored by anything we do, but on the basis of what Jesus already did for us!!

"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."  John 1:12-13

Q: What does it mean to be "saved"?

Ephesians 2:8-9 states that a person is saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast.

Titus 3:5-8 speaks about how people are saved by God...

He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that being justified by His grace we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. This is a trustworthy statement; and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently, so that those who have believed God may be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and profitable for men.

Q: What does it mean to be a "born again believer"?

Becoming a "born again believer" and getting "saved" are synonymous terms describing one's salvation.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 1 Peter 1:3-6

Q: How do I know if I'm saved?

Only you can answer that question. Do you know where you will spend eternity when you die? Have you come to a point in your life when you've accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior?

Salvation is simply trusting in God to do something in us, for us, and through us we could not do ourselves.

But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.    (Rom. 10:8-13)

The Bible tells us we must turn from our sins and turn to God which is repentance.

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. Acts 3:19KJV

Salvation is simply acknowledging Jesus’ Lordship and inviting Him into your heart (or life) praying a prayer of commitment to God.

(Dear God, I know that you love me. I confess my sin and need of salvation. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and arose from the grave. I turn away from my sin and place my faith in Jesus as my Savior and Lord. I want to follow you with my life. Amen.)
